Script & Spoken Audio

For my film, I want audio recordings of my models speaking about who they are and where their sense of femininity comes from. I will do this through recording voice memos on my phone whilst with my models shooting. In post production I will then send these voice memos to the computer from my phone and pop them into the timeline in post. I did consider using the Zoom H2n Audio Recorder that we practiced using earlier on in term during workshops, however, it was pretty booked out. Another thing about using the recorder would be that the audio would sound too crisp for the feel I'm going for. I want the audio in the film to sound super personal and intimate, like the viewer is on the phone or listening to a voicemail from a friend. I will manage this by recording on my phone which will already make spoken audio sound slightly muffled and then changing the dialogue settings on premier.

In order to get the type of spoken audio I want from each of my 6 models, I wrote mini scripts for each one. Despite my film being about authenticity and capturing raw moments, I knew my models aren't professional in the sense of being comfortable behind a camera. If this film was a proper industry standard piece, I would source models to be in the film who fit the same criteria but have maybe had some sort of experience in public speaking/ talking to the camera. However, as a student led film I knew I had to use and source people that are close by (I don't have a car here and need to be able to access my models easily to transport kit and in case of re shoots). This means I was limited to who I could use and who I had access to, I'm still extremely happy with the 6 girls I have and that are participating in my film and I do believe they'll successfully execute my ideas. In summary, I had to make short guidance scripts to make them more comfortable with speaking about the topic of conversation about femininity. I wrote these lines down in my notebook which I carry around with me for university and filming.

I put in my notes underneath here (this won't be completely accurate to what each person says, more so guidelines to help them!)
