Practice Shooting With Canon EOS 5D MK

As I have only used this camera a couple of times in previous sessions on campus, I wanted to make sure I knew how to properly use the camera. I took it out of SiSo today (23/11/21) at 9:30am and took the equipment straight to studio 6 where I could start setting it up with my memory card and trying the two different lenses, 35mm and 50mm.

I took a few practice shots in the studio to get used to handling, size and the general operations of the camera. When I watched back some of the first footage I realised how shaky the film looked, this was because I didn't have the stabiliser on on the lens I was using which was 35mm. I turned this on and the shots came out a lot better considering I don't have a tripod. Unfortunately I can't get a tripod out until Thursday and I had planned to film today and Wednesday. Ultimately, this doesn't matter too much as I didn't want the film to look to perfect, in a way that a slight handheld shake would give it that personal feel I'm aiming for. I would've liked to use the tripod for some in-between shots and I could potentially take some after Thursday depending on how much film I already have.

I found using this camera quite simple, I didn't change the settings or adjust any of the buttons on the camera as I don't quite know what everything means. The picture was coming out great so I thought I could just leave it like that ready to film Alexis. I composed all the short videos I took into one video on premier just so I could see it together and I was happy with the way the film looks.
