Nuevo Guest Lecture

Today we had a guest lecture on campus from the carbon conscious content marketing brand 'Nuevo'. The speakers were extremely informative and gave some amazing background insights to their business, creative process and their unique values of sustainability in this field.

They went through each of their projects and clients: Canada Goose, Extreme E, Herbalife, Unite Students, Mentor 360 and iFit. Going through these and their processes behind the projects within planning, communication and the physical process. This was really helpful for us to see as this creative process as we can use their methods and apply it to our own filmmaking and projects. Their industry insights and knowledge into how they shoot their films which is so insightful for us as we move onto our final projects and coming up with our own concepts and ideas.


My favourite work they showed us was their Canada Goose campaigns for a series titled 'Live In The Open' where they 'celebrate exceptional women who find inspiration in the natural world to drive global sustainable initiatives' (Canada Goose, 2021). One of Nuevos campaign videos that they showed us from 'Live In The Open' was a visual documentary style piece based around diver Sarah Richard. I appreciated their shots from drones, close up and underwater all adding up with serene and inspiring music to make a moving short film and advert for the company.
