In this session with Sarah James we discussed about finding our voice as a creative to help establish our identity in this industry. The key way of doing this is built into the foundations of our research to support our projects.
Sarah began by asking the question of 'How Are You?' and the complexities that come behind such a simple question, further proving how much there is to dig behind any point of research. Looking at context there's a lot to discover behind the question with a lot of sub-questions and reading of the situation...
Context: Who’s asking? Employer, teacher, lover, friend, therapist, shop assistant?
Question: Can I be honest or do I need to give a version of myself?
Assessment: What does the situation require me to answer?
Question: What would happen if I told the unfettered truth – requires further assessment…. Context: How much time have we got? Assessment: Whats at stake?
What our research methodologies has in terms of pre-determined features:

Library
Other than this our research has other variables that alter it such as aspects we personally bring...

Observations
Theorising
Reading, listening and watching secondary sources critically
Drawing ideas from any connected field
